Welcome
to Echoes Recording Studio
We are a professional recording facility located 10 miles
south of Hagerstown, MD (one hour from Baltimore, MD and Washington
D.C.). We are conveniently located near Interstate access
yet are situated in a very secluded rustic setting. No Neighbors
and lots of trees! Our studio is housed in a 1855, 2 story
farmhouse with over 3000 square feet of recording areas. We
offer a very spacious control room, drum room, 2 studio rooms,
along with options for more rooms available for separation/isolation
purposes if needed. All Rooms are acoustically treated. Musicians
can play together or isolated but still be in eye contact.
We conduct our studio on a professional level but pride
ourselves for being very laid back and easy to work with.
Creating a very comfortable and laid back environment we feel
is very important to the recording process. Echoes Recording
Studio is a studio designed and operated by musicians for
musicians We have adopted a hands on approach to the recording
project for each and every client. We do not do 'Cookie Cutter'
or Assembly line type recordings. We take the approach that
each project is unique and creative. We encourage as much
participation into the recording process as each clients wishes.

2" 24 Track Reel to Reel installed
We have just purchased a Otari 24 Track 2" Tape deck
for use primarly in tracking basic tracks and then immediatly
transfering over to digital on certain projects. The sound
of rock drums on analog tape is defintly something to behold
and the Otari is defintly a workhorse of the industry with
thousands of hit records recorded on them.. We are going to
eventually get a 16 Track and 8 Track head as well for use
on the machine. One nice thing about the Otaris is the headstacks
changed out very easily. I will have pictures and sound samples
up shortly.

We finally got our MCI J636 large format mixing console
installed and fully functioning. The console original was
commissioned for Battery Studios Chicago in 1983. Original
price was $150,000!!! After spending 10 years there it was
transferred to a small studio in Manhattan, New York. Just
at Battery alone this console had a impressive list of clients
to record on it.
We purchased the console last October and have spent the
last couple months restoring it. I have done much recapping,
rechipping, modifications, upgrades, etc. etc.
The console sounds truly amazing and has been well worth
the time and money put into it. I have always wanted a MCI
, primarily due to the fact that one of my favorite producer/engineers
Tom Dowd used them extensively.
